About the event
WHAT IS THIS? The MPL Manchester Workshops are part of My Percussive Lips' Creative Engagement Scheme.
WHO IS IT FOR? These workshops are aimed at the stammering community, but also anyone else who lives with a disfluency. We are happy and committed to making these practical workshops as accessible as possible to match your needs for you to do your best work and to have the best time. This is a perfect chance for you to play with vocal freedom in a safe space.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT? These are practical creative workshops, however this does not mean you have to be, or see yourself as, creative. This is all about playing and exploring our self expression, vocal identity through creative exercises and games. You should expect a mix of activities, ranging from and including music, improvisation, writing, drawing, movement, dance. All activities are optional. There is no pressure to take part if you attend, however we fully encourage you to go all in to get the best experience!
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? It is totally free!
WHERE IS IT? The workshops are currently to be confirmed (TBC), you will receive an update confirmation with location details at least a week prior to the event.
IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD PREPARE FOR/BRING? Apart from being open to trying new things and having a sense of humour, not much! We advise you to wear clothing that you feel comfortable moving in (i.e. going to the floor, jumping, playing). A bottle of water and a notebook to take notes if you wish is advised.
